New PAL promos target Australasia, corporate markets
MANILA – Philippine Airlines has introduced two major promotional-fare schemes aimed at travelers to choice destinations in Asia and Australia, as well as at corporate travel planners seeking novel incentive packages for their top performers.
Ongoing is the “Great Value Flights” promo that features hefty discounts on PAL flights from Manila to points in China, Southeast Asia and Australia. Special round-trip fares start at $88 for Macau, as much as 82% off the regular economy-class fare for this route.
The promo fare to Singapore, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Xiamen, Taipei and Guam is $118, round-trip, while for mainland China destinations, the rate is $168 for Shanghai and $268 for Beijing.
Finally, for the Australian points of Sydney and Melbourne, the round-trip fare is $468.
All these fares are exclusive of taxes, fees and surcharges. The promo is available to passengers embarking in any of PAL’s domestic points, with a minimal surcharge of $10 for those boarding outside Manila.
These fares are available for ticketing until September 28, 2008 and valid for travel until December 15, 2008.
Meanwhile, PAL has partnered with Asia’s leading cruise line, Star Cruises, to offer fly-and-cruise incentive packages to the corporate market. PAL flies the travelers to Singapore where they board Star Cruises’ ships for three- or four-day itineraries around Southeast Asia.
A three-night cruise on board the SuperStar Virgo goes for just $548 per person, inclusive of round-trip air fare to Singapore, twin-sharing in an inside stateroom, full-board meals, nightly entertainment and the use of specified ship outlets.
The Virgo stops in Penang, Malaysia and Phuket, Thailand before returning to Singapore. Covered by the promo are the sailing dates from October 26, 2008 to March 29, 2009.
On the other hand, the four-day cruise package costs $608 per person and sails on the SuperStar Aquarius. The same inclusions are provided, plus an additional stopover in Port Klang, Malaysia. Sailing dates are until October 19, 2008.
